| Share-based Compensation | Note 11—Share-based Compensation The following table presents the equity awards granted to employees and non-employee directors under the amended and restated 2007 Equity Incentive Compensation Plan (EIP) during the nine months ended June 30, 2023:
(1)Represents the maximum number of performance-based shares which could be earned. For the three months ended June 30, 2023 and 2022, the Company recorded share-based compensation expense related to the EIP of $184 million and $145 million, respectively. For the nine months ended June 30, 2023 and 2022, the Company recorded share-based compensation expense related to the EIP of $568 million and $447 million, respectively.
