Segment and Geographic Information The Company operates in one reportable segment — the design, development and sale of integrated circuits. The chief executive officer was identified as the chief operating decision maker (“CODM”) for the years ended February 3, 2018, January 28, 2017 and January 30, 2016. The Company’s CODM is ultimately responsible for and actively involved in the allocation of resources and the assessment of the Company’s performance. The fact that the Company operates in only one reportable segment is based on the following: | | • | The Company uses a highly-integrated approach in developing its products in that discrete technologies developed by the Company are frequently integrated across many of its products. Substantially all of the Company’s integrated circuits are manufactured under similar manufacturing processes. |
| | • | The Company’s organizational structure is based along functional lines. Each of the functional department heads reports directly to the CODM. Shared resources in the Company also report directly to the CODM or to a direct report of the CODM. |
| | • | The assessments of performance across the Company, including assessment of the Company’s incentive compensation plan, are based largely on operational performance and consolidated financial performance. |
| | • | The decisions on allocation of resources and other operational decisions are made by the CODM based on his direct involvement with the Company’s operations and product development. |
